Federal prosecutors in Chicago have filed criminal charges against 32 known defendants, alleging they committed non-immigration crimes tied to Operation Midway Blitz.
Many of the defendants were accused of assaulting or resisting federal officers or agents.
But at least three defendants were cleared after a grand jury refused to indict and a fourth was cleared when a jury found him not guilty at trial. Eleven others saw their charges dropped for various other reasons.
