Eagles Trade $96M Super Bowl Champ to Buffalo Bills in Predicted Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills both carry Super Bowl aspirations into every offseason, but one side has a glaring hole that the other can fill. The game changed for the Philadelphia Eagles when they acquired A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for the 18th and 101st overall picks, a move that helped turn Philadelphia’s offense into an absolute machine alongside Saquon Barkley during their 2024-25 Super Bowl run. On the other side, Josh Allen has James Cook, Khalil Shakir, and not a whole lot else. It’s no secret that the Buffalo Bills desperately need a true No. 1 receiver to match their blockbuster ambitions. Now, at least one NFL expert is predicting that A.J. Brown could be exactly the superstar who ends up in a Buffalo Bills uniform.

USA Today’s Ayrton Ostly predicted on March 3 that the Buffalo Bills land Brown in a stunning offseason swap, writing that Buffalo “hasn’t had a true No. 1 receiver since Stefon Diggs’ peak production in 2021-22.”

Ostly pointed to the Bills’ seven picks in the 2026 NFL Draft as capital to get a deal done, with the 26th overall selection as the centerpiece for a package that could mirror what the Eagles originally paid to pry Brown out of Tennessee. It’s Year 1 of the Joe Brady era in Buffalo, and handing him a proven alpha receiver would be a statement from Brandon Beane that the Bills aren’t just running it back — they’re going all in.

Things have reportedly become more complicated over the past year for the Philadelphia Eagles and A.J. Brown, particularly after the offense struggled under the OC Kevin Patullo, alongside Nick Sirianni, and Jalen Hurts. Brown simply didn’t get the production or the targets he was accustomed to, and that frustration has been simmering for months.

Albert Breer reported that Brown’s camp has already done recon on landing spots, with the Eagles’ asking price sitting at a first-round pick and a top-100 selection. Brown has posted monster numbers throughout his career.

Year Team REC YDS TD
2025 Eagles 78 1,003 7
2024 Eagles 67 1,079 7
2023 Eagles 106 1,456 7
2022 Eagles 88 1,496 11
2021 Titans 63 869 5
2020 Titans 70 1,075 11
2019 Titans 52 1,051 8

Meanwhile, the Bills have been starving for exactly what Brown brings to the table. Keon Coleman, drafted 33rd overall in 2024, totaled just 38 receptions for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns across 13 games in 2025, dealing with disciplinary issues and healthy scratches that torpedoed his second season. Coleman was a hot topic coming out of the draft, but the production hasn’t materialized — and there were plenty of rumblings about roster accountability from Beane and company even after McDermott was fired.

Buffalo Bills NFL Offseason Outlook

Brown signed a 3-year, $96 million extension with the Eagles in April 2024, carrying a $32 million average annual value that set a receiver market record at the time. That’s real money. But the Bills are already in a strong position per Vegas heading into 2026 — imagine what happens when you hand Josh Allen a bonafide superstar who posted back-to-back seasons of 1,496 and 1,456 receiving yards in his first two years in Philadelphia.

Allen threw for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2025 while entering the MVP conversation, doing all of it without a true No. 1 wideout. Brown would instantly become the clear-cut alpha Allen has lacked since Diggs left town.

Neither Howie Roseman nor Sirianni shut the door at the NFL Combine, either. Sirianni told reporters, “I can’t guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season,” and Roseman said the Eagles are “always listening,” adding that not hearing out offers means you’re not doing your job.
