Eagles Land Prediction to Add More Help for Jalen Hurts

The Philadelphia Eagles have had a lot of drama surrounding quarterback Jalen Hurts this offseason. While the negative comments continue happening, Hurts has led the team to a lot of success.

Since taking over as the starter, Hurts has led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances. He has also led a Super Bowl win just two yeas ago over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Despite the success he has had, the rumors about Philadelphia parting ways with Hurts continue coming out. However, the team has remained confident in the quarterback’s ability.

Throughout the course of the 2026 NFL offseason thus far, plenty of trade rumors have surrounded star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Whether or not the Eagles will actually move him remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him playing elsewhere this season.

Also, there is an uncertain future at tight end when it comes to Dallas Goedert. In the near future, it would be wise for Philadelphia to consider targeting a long-term tight end.

Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has been made that would see the Eagles bring in more help for Hurts.

Eagles Predicted to Make Move for New Tight End

CBS Sports has released a new seven-round mock draft. They have predicted that Philadelphia will select Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers with the No. 54 overall pick in the second round.

Stowers would be an excellent addition for the Eagles’ offense. He would be able to step in and produce right away, while also offering a future replacement for Goedert.

Standing in at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Stowers has excellent size. He also possesses elite athleticism. The potential is there for him to become a future star.

During the 2025 college football season with the Commodores, Stowers caught 62 passes for 769 yards and four touchdowns. He totaled 146 catches for 1,773 yards and 11 touchdowns in his three college seasons.

What Would the Eagles Be Getting If They Drafted Stowers?

Todd McShay, an NFL Draft expert for The Ringer, provided his breakdown of Stowers. He is very high on the young tight end.

“Stowers is still developing and needs to improve his route-running urgency and catch-point physicality. But from an athletic and explosive profile standpoint, he’s in the same elite tier as Vernon Davis, Kyle Pitts, and Noah Fant,” McShay wrote.

“Combine that with his year-over-year production improvements and exceptional intelligence testing, and there’s a chance he’ll emerge as one of the best offensive playmakers from the 2026 draft class in a year or two.”

Whether or not Philadelphia actually has interest in Stowers or not remains to be seen. The fit would make a lot of sense and would potentially provide long-term offensive stability.

Adding more talent for Hurts would be a wise choice for the Eagles. Stowers would be one solid way to do just that.
