The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are one of, if not the top rivalry in the NFC East.
So when the two teams play each other twice every year, those games are often front-and-center in the national spotlight.
That won’t change during the 2026 season as it’s being reported the two rivals will play each other in a holiday game on national television.

According to Ryan Fowler of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Eagles and Cowboys will renew their bitter rivalry during one of the biggest holidays of the year.
“Source: Eagles will play in Dallas on Thanksgiving,” Fowler posted on X.
The news was confirmed by the Eagles official website.
“The best rivalry in the NFL will have at least one game in an exclusive window when the Eagles play at the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, at 4:30 PM on FOX,” Eagles team reporter Dave Sparado wrote.
It’ll mark just the third time the Eagles and Cowboys have met on Thanksgiving. Philadelphia won both of the previous two holiday meetings — a 33-10 win on Nov. 27, 2014, and a 27-0 victory on Nov. 23, 1989, in a game dubbed the “Bounty Bowl.”
During that 1989 game, Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson accused Eagles head coach Buddy Ryan of taking out a bounty on two of his players — rookie quarterback Troy Aikman and kicker Luis Zendejas.
On the opening kickoff, Zendejas was laid out by an Eagles defender, which prompted Johnson to publicly call Ryan out for what he believed to be shady tactics.
“I have absolutely no respect for the way they played the game, I would have said something to Buddy, but he wouldn’t stand on the field long enough,” Johnson stated.
He put his big, fat rear end into the dressing room.”

The Cowboys are 35-22-1 all-time on Thanksgiving, including wins in their last four Thanksgiving games, but they’ve never beaten the Eagles.
Philadelphia, on the other hand, is 6-1 all-time in Thanksgiving games, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia.
The Eagles notched wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers (1939, 1940), Detroit Lions (1968), Cowboys twice (1989, 2014), and the Arizona Cardinals (1947, 2008). Their only loss came against the Lions — a 45-14 loss back in 2015.
In their seven previous Thanksgiving games, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 148-79 (+69 point differential).
Playing in Philadelphia’s favor even more is its recent success against its division rival. The Eagles have won four of the last five meetings five of the last eight.
They dominated the Cowboys in a 2024 season sweep, outscoring their NFC East foe 75-13, and they split the season series in 2025, though both contests were decided in one-score games — a 24-20 Philadelphia win in Week 1 and a 24-21 Dallas win in Week 12.
