While it’s not exactly Romeo & Juliet, a Philadelphia Eagles superstar dating a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader isn’t too far behind.
Eagles All-Pro cornerback Cooper DeJean and Cowboys cheerleader Abby Summers appeared to hard launch their relationship on Saturday at the Kentucky Derby, with Summers posting a cringe-worthy TikTok and the 2 appearing together on the red carpet.
The appearance together confirmed months-long rumors that DeJean, 23, was dating a cheerleader from his team’s most-hated rival.
DeJean had been previously linked to WWE star Nikki Bella.
Summers, 25, is a former Ohio State dance team member and Ohio native who was featured on the popular Netflix documentary series “America’s Sweethearts” about the Cowboys cheerleaders.
“While the DCC has strict rules against cheerleaders dating any players on Jerry Jones’ team, there is nothing that prohibits them from dating other NFL players,” The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Mia Messina wrote. “Bengals kicker Cade York and former Cowboys cheerleader Zoe York were dating while she was cheering for Dallas. The two were married last July.”

DeJean, a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native, starred at the University of Iowa and was a 2nd round pick (No. 40 overall) by the Eagles in the 2024 NFL draft.
Headed into his 3rd season, he’s firmly established as 1 of the NFL’s elite defensive players and famously returned an interception of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for a touchdown in a 40-22 Super Bowl win as a rookie.
DeJean earned NFL All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for the 1st time in his 2nd season in 2025 and is in line for a massive contract extension in 2027.
