There aren’t many certainties in life, but when it comes to Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson, everyone agrees on one thing.
Johnson has been a great draft choice for the Eagles since he was picked fourth overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then, he has held down the right tackle job and has been one of the greatest to ever do it.
While it appears he may be close to retiring, Johnson is still playing the best football of his career. That doesn’t mean life after football isn’t being talked about with him, as destiny awaits the stellar player.
Lane Johnson is Poised for Hall of Fame Storybook Ending With Eagles

Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox made a list of 12 active players who are more than likely getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Johnson was the only Eagles player to make the cut.
“Injuries impacted Lane Johnson’s 2025 campaign, and the future of the Philadelphia Eagles star remains a bit murky. However, the 35-year-old has probably already secured his spot in Canton.”
“A dependable pass protector and elite run blocker, Johnson has seemingly gotten better as his career has progressed. He has made six Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro lists, all within the last nine years.”
Johnson has been a central part of the offensive line for over a decade. He has helped the Eagles win two Super Bowls in his career. It’s become clear over the years that when Johnson is not in the lineup, the Eagles struggle.
Last year, Johnson did not allow a single sack in 262 pass-blocking snaps during the 10 games he played. He missed the last eight games of the regular season and playoffs with a foot injury.

Johnson’s whole career has seen the Eagles be successful. 10 playoff berths, three Super Bowl appearances, and winning two of them. All he has known is how to win.
Entering 2026, that continues to be the trend with him. Despite missing part of training camp due to personal matters, no one is worried about him. His skill set still makes him one of the top linemen in the NFL.
The biggest question with Johnson is whether he can stay healthy to see the whole season through. Over the last few seasons, he has had a tendency to miss parts of games because of lower body injuries.
If Johnson can stay on the field, the Eagles are destined to make another Super Bowl run.. They just hope they can have their top lineman on the field for that to become a reality.
