Draymond Green News Leaks Before Warriors vs. Suns Game

Draymond Green is obviously a key part of the Golden State Warriors‘ roster, and the best way this team can move forward against the Suns in their play-in game is with Green and their most important players healthy and ready to go.

But, on Thursday, April 16, just one day before the team’s game against Phoenix on Friday, April 17, some concerning news about Green surfaced.

Green had a stellar performance during the Warriors’ win against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, April 15, but he may have not been totally healthy when he did it. Usually, the term health means injury in the NBA, but this time, we’re talking about actually being sick.

NBA Insider Says Draymond Green Was Super Sick Before Warriors and Clippers Game

On Thursday, ESPN’s Shams Charania stated on “NBA Today” that Green was seen throwing up before the Warriors’ 126-121 victory. That’s pretty disturbing to hear knowing that Green has to be 100 percent against the Suns.

“Team sources told me Draymond Green was sick,” Charania said on the show. “He was throwing up, puking all over the place in pregame.”

He added, “Sideline, in the back area by the locker room. And you could tell as the game was starting his energy looked a little low.”

Throwing up and having low energy often goes together, since you lose electrolytes by vomiting. Fox Sports 1’s Rachel Nichols also reported on X before the game that Green had a “hacking cough” before the game in the Warriors’ locker room.

So, get Green some energy drinks and get those electrolytics back up. Hopefully whatever he has is gone by Friday. It sounds like a stomach virus, which is never fun, especially when your NBA team is depending on you for a play-in win.

Warriors vs. Suns Playoff Predictions Basically Say the Play-In Could Go Either Way

So, what are the experts saying about this play-in matchup? Jeremy Cluff of The Arizona Republic calls it with the Phoenix Suns 110, Golden State Warriors 108. Of course, he’s in Arizona, so take that into account.

“The Warriors took three of the four games in the season series against the Suns, but their last two wins were by a combined seven points,” Cluff notes. “Phoenix is looking to avoid becoming the first No. 7 seed in the NBA Play-In Tournament to miss the playoffs. Devin Booker will play the hero late.”

Milenko Janjić of Baseball Sphere has the Warriors taking it, though, noting that “the championship mentality and experience of the Golden State Warriors were on full display once again in their road win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the first play-in game.”

“It was evident that the Warriors’ most experienced players – Steph Curry, Al Horford, and Draymond Green – thrive in close finishes and don’t shy away from them, which could very well be the case for the young Phoenix Suns squad,” he adds.

He continues, “The Warriors undoubtedly possess a wealth of quality, and their current health situation appears to be quite solid, which is why we believe they can secure a playoff spot with a win in this game.”
