Pages has mostly hit in the bottom half of the order this season. He has 56 at-bats hitting seventh, followed by 32 at-bats hitting sixth in the lineup. Pages began the year batting eighth, where he spent 21 at-bats.

A recent hot stretch has moved Pages up the lineup. He’s posted a massive 1.175 OPS in May. Pages victimized the Houston Astros for a three-homer game on Wednesday, May 6. He’s blasted nine home runs this season. The outfielder is slashing an excellent .333/.372/.576. This will be Pages’ fifth start of the season in the three-hole. He’s 2-for-12 with five strikeouts in those contests.

Hernandez has posted an underwhelming .614 OPS in May. He hasn’t homered in nearly a month. Hernandez last left the yard on Wednesday, April 15, against the New York Mets. The veteran has a career-worst 93 wRC+ in 2026.

Hernandez is walking nearly 10% of the time, but he’s also striking out at an elevated 29.6% clip. He’s had big strikeout seasons during his big-league tenure, but has cleaned up some of those issues since signing with the Dodgers. The veteran has taken a step back in terms of making contact this year.

Dalton Rushing Starts Over Will Smith Again

Rushing will make another start at catcher, with Smith getting the day off. The 25-year-old has earned a bigger opportunity with a strong .322/.394/.712 slash line. He’s making his 13th start at catcher. Rushing has also had chances at DH, particularly when Ohtani is on the mound.

Smith has a perfectly league-average 100 wRC+ this season. He’s dealt with a handful of minor injuries, which have afforded more at-bats for Rushing. Smith has yet to get going from a power perspective. He has a career-low .369 slugging percentage in 124 plate appearances.
