“Dino Rib” highlights new options on the plate at Coors Field this season

While there is nothing wrong with a Rockie Dog and a beer, there are more creative options available to fans at Coors Field this season.

The biggest option — literally — is the “Dino Rib,” a 20 oz. smoked beef rib served with Paratha Bread and herb salad. Coming in at just under $30, it is designed to be shared street-taco style among 2-4 people at The Sandlot Brewery.

“They wanted something loud, and I went loud.” Aramark executive chef Billy Sims said. “It will fall apart so you can grab it with your hands. It is fun for kids, and you can share it.”

Other meaty options are the “Burgeritto,” a green-chili cheeseburger with shoestring fries wrapped in a flour tortilla. It is available near sections 134 and 306. The “Italian Pretzel Melt” features Denver’s own Polidori Italian Sausage with provolone cheese, marinara sauce, balsamic glaze, white onion and poblano peppers on a pretzel bun. The sandwich, which has a bit of a kick, is available near section 149.

For those looking for a meat alternative, visit Better-Off Burgers in center field. The stand offers “The Original,” a mushroom-based 12-ingredient burger with sauce, pickles and vegan cheddar cheese, and a “Chorizo Burger,” with vegan smoked gouda, roasted peppers, bibb lettuce and chipotle aioli.

To accompany the vegan burgers, Aramark has come up with vanilla and strawberry “Tahini Shakes,” made with oat milk, banana, dates and protein powder.

On the sweeter side, there is a “Strawberry Cheesecake Quesadilla” with strawberries, cream cheese, sugar, cinnamon and butter served in a flour tortilla. This treat is available near section 109.

Fans looking for the ice cream stand in left field will find it has been relocated to the kids’ Buckaroo stand to make room for the Epic Western Saloon. The saloon uses Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology — and 42 cameras — to scan your palm or credit card, making it easier to get back to the game quickly. The Rockies tested out this technology last season at the Coors Light Chill Zone near section 105.

Similarly, the Wazee Market on the third base side of the main concourse now has a self-checkout for John Dough Pizza Co.; Tenders, Love, and Chicken; Rockie Dogs; and a large selection of beverages.

For those fans with premium tickets, the Toyota Clubhouse has been completely remodeled. The new design features murals highlighting historic moments and portraits of numerous players by Boulder native and Colorado State alum Taylor Gallegos.
