You don’t play in the NBA for as long as Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James has without making some on-court enemies. For James, one of those enemies is Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks.
James and Brooks have had a bunch of battles over the years, but with James potentially considering retirement this offseason, it remains to be seen if the two will have any more on-court clashes.
Dillon Brooks Doesn’t Expect LeBron James to Retire From NBA This Offseason
PHOENIX, ARIZONA – DECEMBER 14: Lebron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dillon Brooks #3 of the Phoenix Suns get together after a play during the second half of a game at Mortgage Matchup Center on December 14, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. Brooks sat courtside for L.A.’s season-ending loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4, potentially in an effort to troll James. When it comes to James’ future, though, Brooks doesn’t expect the four-time champion to call it a career quite yet.
“I don’t think it’s his last year,” Brooks said of James. “I think he got one more in him. I watched him when I was in the NBA, when I was a kid in high school. He’s got a phenomenal career and battled everybody and done it at a high level throughout. It’s been amazing to watch overall, a pleasure to battle against him.”
Despite their on-court battles, Brooks clearly respects James and all that he’s accomplished over the course of his career, and who knows, perhaps the pair will get to add more chapters to their rivalry before all is said and done.
