Two days after the splash signing of Lindsey Heaps, Summit FC’s roster-building continues.
Denver signed Canada international Emma Regan, the club announced on Wednesday. The midfielder and British Columbia native signed a three-year contract with a mutual option for 2029.
Regan, 25, has played for AFC Toronto, a pro women’s team that competes in Canada’s Northern Super League, as well as the Danish club HB Køge.
On the international level, Regan’s represented Canada on its the U-15, U-17, and U-20 teams, and debuted for the country’s senior national team in 2018. She was a part of the silver medal team at the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship.
“Emma is a versatile, intelligent midfielder with professional and international experience,” Denver Summit FC general manager Curt Johnson said in a statement. “Her leadership, composure, and competitive drive make her an ideal addition as we build our roster for our inaugural season. We’re thrilled to welcome her to Denver.”
With Regan’s signing, Summit FC’s roster stands at 15. The roster maximum is 26 players, and Johnson said he expects the club to be at 22 or 23 players for the preseason. The club is expected to announce several more signings later this week.
