Cowboys Announce George Pickens News as Offseason Heats Up

George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys are officially in the offseason, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of the public eye. On Tuesday, February 3, the wide receiver participated in the 2026 Pro Bowl festivities, and he drew attention for his appearance in the game.

The NFL Pro Bowl is the league’s all-star event, with both skills competitions and non-contact flag football. The game has the NFL’s top players competing in a non-competitive setting.

The Pro Bowl is a flag football event, and that makes it a good opportunity for the NFL to highlight the debut of flag football for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California.

“Its inclusion, led by efforts of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and supported by the NFL, showcases an aspirational new pathway to elite play and the incredible development of the sport globally,” the NFL said in an official statement about flag football being part of the upcoming Olympic games.

Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver George Pickens Gets NFL Honor at 2026 Pro Bowl

Congratulations are in order for Pickens, who earned the offensive MVP after recording three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown in the 2026 Pro Bowl games. The team announced the news on social media after the win.

“It was super fun with all the guys,” Pickens said after receiving the award during the ESPN broadcast. “Kind of like Antoine says, shoutout to the NFC, man.”

Pickens later added, “We was going to use Micah for the tush push. We saw him and he was in the scooter. It would have been a tush roll. [The refs] was not playing around. That would have been a nice play though.”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr earned the defensive MVP award following an interception from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with four minutes to go during the game.

“I had a great time,” Winfield said after the game. “We all just fought hard, played with each other and we just did our thing and won. Shoutout to the NFC.”

The NFC beat the AFC this year, with a 66-52 final score. So, Pickens may not be playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but he still has bragging rights.

Dallas Cowboys Had 8 Players in the 2026 Pro Bowl

Eight Dallas Cowboys participated in the Pro Bowl Games this week in San Francisco. Quarterback Dak Prescot was one of them.

As for Pickens, as the Cowboys’ official website states, “Pro Bowl MVP should put a capper on a breakout season for Pickens, who was also second-team All-Pro. He’s considered the top free agent player in the entire NFL and obviously a big priority for the Cowboys to re-sign this offseason.”

Pickens says that he would love to be back in Dallas. “I would love to,” Pickens said, according to the team’s official website. “But when you can’t control it, you kind of just hope for the best.”

Pickens added that so far, other Cowboys haven’t reach out to him about the contract issue. “No, not me personally,” Pickens explained. “Definitely probably my agent. He doesn’t tell me who he calls all the time, so definitely just kind of wait it out and hope for the best.”
