Commanders’ Von Miller Doesn’t Hold Back About Jayden Daniels

Over the last couple of years, the Washington Commanders have gone on a rollercoaster ride. Just two years ago, the team made a run to the NFC Championship Game, but last season they missed out on the playoffs.

While the 2025 season was a complete disappointment, the fact of the matter is that the Commanders suffered brutally from the injury bug. Jayden Daniels, the team’s young rising star quarterback, was only able to play in seven games due to multiple injuries.

At the end of the day, a team can’t hang its head too much when injuries play such a pivotal factor in a lost season.

The future is still bright in Washington. Assuming Daniels can stay healthy in the future, the Commanders should still be a potential contender in the NFC.

With that being said, Washington veteran pass rusher Von Miller recently took some time to speak out with strong words about the second-year quarterback.

Von Miller Doesn’t Hold Back About Jayden Daniels

During an appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show,” Miller did not hold back at all from heaping praise on the young signal caller. He even compared Daniels to NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

“[Josh Allen] has this way of dropping your guard and making you feel like you’re one of the guys on his team,” Miller said. “Jayden Daniels is the same way… [Daniels] just has this way of dropping your guard and making you feel [like] part of the team.”

He continued on, revealing where he believes Daniels compares to Bryant.

“He’s a special talent. He can run, he can pass, he’s smart. And I think the things that really stood out for me is he just has that moxy. He just has that confidence. The game is never too big for him, never too small for him… Has some great traits of the late Kobe Bryant. That’s the type of personality you want with your quarterback.”

Those words coming from a longtime NFL star like Miller are a huge endorsement. Daniels has shown signs of superstar potential and these comments prove that even further.

A Look at Jayden Daniels’ First Two Seasons with the Commanders

Throughout his first two seasons in the NFL, Daniels has put on a show when he has been healthy.

Daniels has played in 24 games so far over two seasons. He has completed 66.6 percent of his pass attempts for 4,830 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions. In addition, he has picked up 1,169 yards and scored eight touchdowns on the ground.

At just 25 years old, the sky is the limit for Daniels moving into the future. The Commanders can only hope that he’s able to stay healthy and doesn’t take the same path that previous franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III took.

Only time will tell, but there are many reasons for Washington fans to be optimistic about the future. The 2025 season didn’t go well, but Daniels will be back fully healthy for the 2026 campaign.
