The Washington Commanders weren’t done making moves in free agency, and by keeping up the hunt for the best available, have ended up solidifying a position that was 1 of their biggest weaknesses in 2025.
“Sources: Patriots edge K’Lavon Chaisson is signing with the Commanders,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote on X on Wednesday morning. “Another edge for Washington. The deal is for 1-year and $12M. A fully revamped front seven, with Odafe Oweh and K’Lavon Chaisson off the edges.”
The Commanders already made a huge move in free agency on Monday by signing Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Odafe Oweh, another former 1st round pick, to a 4-year, $100 million contract.
“BREAKING: The Commanders are signing edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson to a 1-year, $12M deal,” Preme Football wrote on its official X account. “The former 1st-round pick in 2020 played 16 games in his lone season with the Patriots, recording 31 tackles, a career-high 7.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Chaisson, one of the top remaining free agents on the market, now heads to Washington.”
