Coach Prime promised a sequel that would be bigger and grander than the original. And when it comes to putting on a spring game at CU, he sounds ready to deliver.
The Buffs announced Monday morning details for their highly-anticipated spring game at the end of April. As expected, the game is only a part of what could best be described as a festival weekend, a celebration of all things Deion Sanders, CU and Ralphie dubbed “Black and Gold Weekend.”
The spring game will be held in late April — April 27, at 1 p.m. at Folsom Field — as per usual.
What’s unusual is everything else. The game will require a paid ticket, with prices set at $15 for bowl seating, $25 for Byron White East Club seating, and $5 for students.
A celebration brunch featuring Buffs football alumni will be held prior to the spring game, from approximately 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday morning. But the festivities actually kick off Thursday. That’s when CU will host a talent show at CU Events Center, open to any fans, students, faculty and staff, with free admission. On Friday night, CU football coach Deion Sanders will host the “Prime Elite Dinner,” a fundraising, per-plate purchase event at the Nerd Wallet Touchdown Club.
The postgame celebrations are unique to the Coach Prime Experience. From the CU news release: “Saturday night will be capped off with Outback Presents ‘The Show,’ A Prime Time Weekend Party, featuring history-making superstar Lil Wayne at CU Events Center.”
Concert tickets go on sale starting at noon April 1 with prices as low as $29.50 (not including fees). On-campus parking for those who attend the game and concert is $10 for the day and can only be purchased on-site.

Tickets to all events are slated to go on sale this week, per a CU athletics news release, with student tickets hitting the market Tuesday and general seating available on Wednesday.
