WrestleMania 42 will invade Las Vegas in less than two weeks for a two-night event at Allegiant Stadium.
Despite boasting over five championship matches and adding John Cena as the official host, tickets for WrestleMania 42 are still available.
On Monday, CM Punk demanded that WWE lower ticket prices to accommodate “all the families” who want to attend WrestleMania 42. During a fiery segment on RAW on Netflix, the WWE heavyweight champion called out TKO execs and ESPN host Pat McAfee for hurting the business with exorbitant prices.
“Pat McAfee. You wanna talk about ticket sales? Call up the agent who was foolish enough to shoehorn you into the business. Tell him to lower the ticket prices.”
Last week on SmackDown, McAfee was revealed as the voice behind Randy Orton’s mystery call and brutal attack on Cody Rhodes. McAfee cut a promo about WWE being in a rut and the current stars being unable to sell tickets.
Compared to the Attitude Era, McAfee thinks the main event landscape has gone soft, which is impacting sales.
WrestleMania Ticket Sales Dip From Last Year
WrestleMania 42 ticket sales are currently tracking below last year’s pace at a similar point on the calendar, according to figures reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Per the latest update, Night 1 has 38,711 tickets sold, including both paid and complimentary tickets. Night 2 stands at 40,333, bringing the combined total to 79,044. This represents a year-over-year dip of 18.8 percent.
The gap was narrowed slightly by Stone Cold’s Austin 3:16-inspired sale on March 16, when tickets were discounted 31.6 percent, which pulled sales to 13.3 percent behind last year.
Still, for a WrestleMania 42 match card that boasts a cluster of future WWE Hall of Famers, CM Punk wants to ensure Allegiant Stadium is filled with WWE faithfuls.
Night 1 is scheduled to feature a WWE Undisputed Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton in the main event. CM Punk will put his heavyweight championship on the line against Roman Reigns to close Night 2.

WWE Has Tweaked WrestleMania 42 Card Due to Injuries
The comparatively low ticket sales can largely be attributed to a WrestleMania 42 match card that has quickly been strung together in the last few weeks.
While many are excited for stars Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley and Randy Orton to compete, among others, some have been less than impressed with the Road to WrestleMania build-up.
When the singles match between Seth Rollins and Gunther was announced, the decision drew mixed responses.
“No storyline at all. Just throwing matches together,” said one fan.
“This makes no sense,” another added. “Yall just doing anything at this point.”
Many pointed to a lack of story progression for the fight, which dampens the hype surrounding the WrestleMania feud.
“All that build up around the masked man just for it to derail into this,” someone commented on Instagram. “Yall would’ve been better off with [Seth] Rollins versus Paul Heyman.”
Others were a bit more sympathetic, understanding that the match is the result of injuries to key stars.
“For anyone complaining that this makes no sense – this was a forced pivot. Both Rollins’ and Gunther’s planned opponents went down with injuries. This is legit the best case scenario and will probably be match of the weekend,” a fan weighed in.
Tickets for WrestleMania 42 are available for purchase on Ticketmaster. The two-night event kicks off on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium.
