Chicago police sergeant shot while driving on duty in Pullman

An on-duty Chicago police sergeant was shot in the Pullman neighborhood late Saturday, Chicago police said.

The sergeant — driving in a marked police car — was in the 11200 block of South Corliss Avenue around 11 p.m. when they were shot in the leg, according to police. That location is about a block south of the Calumet District CPD station.

The sergeant drove to a nearby hospital, where they were reported in good condition. The hospital was not identified.


A person was arrested and a weapon was found, according to police. An investigation is continuing. No other details have been released.
