Chicago Cubs Announce Dansby Swanson Decision Before Diamondbacks Game

On Friday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs will open up their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field.

They had an off day on Thursday following a three-game series with the San Diego Padres in California.

Dansby Swanson left Tuesday’s game in the second innings (and did not play on Wednesday.

For Friday’s game, the Cubs have announced their starting lineup.

Swanson will be back in action.

He is batting .214 with 21 hits, six home runs, 23 RBI’s, 23 runs and two stolen bases in his first 30 games of the 2026 season.
