The Los Angeles Chargers parted ways with Will Dissly ahead of free agency, creating $4 million in cap space for the team. Parting ways with Dissly comes after rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden had a standout season, recording 664 receiving yards and 3 touchdown catches.
Gadsden will be the team’s first option in the pass game, with Charlie Kolar, who the Chargers signed to a three-year, $24.3 million deal in free agency, serving as the team’s blocking tight end.
Needing some depth in the position, the Bolts have recently conducted an NFL 30 visit with a member of the 2022 National Champion tight end ahead of the draft.
Chargers Set to Meet with SEC Tight End

Tight ends accounted for almost a third of Justin Herbert’s passing yards in the 2025 season. With Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin no longer on the roster (Conklin was on a one-year deal), the Bolts need some more depth at the position.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are scheduled to meet with Georgia Bulldog tight end Oscar Delp on a 30 visit.
Delp doesn’t have standout numbers in his four collegiate seasons, with the 2022 season recording his best recieving yard season (284) and the 2023 season being his best touchdown catch season (4), but has good qualities to develop into a good pass catcher, according to one analyst. Delp has hauled in 70 receptions for 854 yards and 9 touchdowns through his four seasons with the Bulldogs.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein describes the tight end as a “soft hand” that could extend into throws.
“Delp is a fluid athlete with the forward lean, short-area quickness and pure speed to beat linebackers on intermediate routes,” Zierlein wrote about the tight end.
“His soft hands and smooth catch skills show up on the move, though his short arms and inconsistent finish through contact limit his reliability. He has enough toughness and technique to help in the run game as he improves his strength. Delp projects as a Day 3 prospect with three-down potential and untapped upside as a pass catcher.”
The tight end is projected to be a third or fourth-round option in the upcoming draft. The Bolts own the 86th (third) and 123rd (fourth) overall selections in this year’s draft. If all goes right and Oscar Delp falls into the Chargers’ lap, new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel will have another toy for his offense and Justin Herbert.
Chargers Might Be Going Offense This Draft

The Los Angeles Chargers hold five selections in the 2026 NFL Draft but appear to be interested in using multiple on offense.
LA has met with multiple offensive prospects ahead of the draft, including Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis and Oklahoma running back Jadyn Ott.
Now adding Oscar Delp to the list, it appears more and more likely that this year’s draft will be offense-heavy for the Bolts, including using the 22nd overall pick.
With one of the top offensive coordinators in the league, Mike McDaniel could be shaping the offense he wants.
