Cardinals Host 4.37 40-Yard Dash Wide Receiver for Top 30 Visit

In the waning weeks before the 2026 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals are rounding out their top 30 visits.

The Cardinals have hosted yet another intriguing prospect for the draft.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals hosted Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II on a visit.

The 6-foot-4, 198-pound Brazzell is coming off a career year with Tennessee. In 12 games, he caught 62 passes for 1,017 yards and a conference-leading nine touchdowns. He was second in the conference for receiving yards and seventh in receptions.

Before Tennessee, he spent two years with Tulane.

What Is Brazzell’s Draft Profile?

The tall wide receiver caught attention at the combine for his off-the-charts athleticism.

Brazzell ran a 4.37 40-yard dash in February and a 1.52 10-yard split, both top ten at the combine.

According to NFL Network’s Lance Zierlein, he is projected to be a third-round pick with an NFL comp of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson.

“Long-limbed Z receiver with the ability to create downfield for an offense thirsty to make more explosive plays outside,” Zierlein wrote. “Brazzell’s 2025 tape shows the game slowing down for him, allowing the production to catch up with the traits. He builds to speed with long strides and dominates above the rim. He’s adept at using length and body control to capture air space against cornerbacks.

“He’s a more competent route runner than most field-stretcher types, but he needs to become more physical on contested targets underneath. Brazzell didn’t see many in-your-face press challenges this past season, but he’s likely to get an early taste of it as a pro. Two-high shells and zone-heavy looks can shrink his snap-to-snap impact, but the quick-strike potential is real.”

Brazzell was ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver on Mel Kiper Jr.’s big board on March 30.

How Would Brazzell Fit on the Arizona Cardinals?

The Cardinals have also brought in Texas Tech’s Reggie Virgil and Caleb Douglas and LSU’s Zavion Thomas, so they are clearly doing their work on some Day 2 or 3 wide receivers.

As of now, wide receiver is not a huge need for Arizona like it was this time last year.

Marvin Harrison Jr. figures to have an opportunity to be the WR1 on the team after a disappointing first two seasons.

Michael Wilson broke out in a big way in 2025, catching 78 passes for 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns. He will figure to be the WR2 in Arizona.

The Cardinals also signed Kendrick Bourne this offseason to be their WR3/slot receiver and to replace Greg Dortch.

Xavier Weaver, Simi Fehoko and Devin Duvernay give the Cardinals much more depth than they had last season, while giving options for special teams as well.

The wide receiver room figures to be a lot better than last year. However, there’s no harm in doing due diligence on every position in the draft.

And there’s no harm, especially in doing their due diligence on a wide receiver with the length and athleticism of Brazzell.

Whether they draft a wide receiver early in this year’s draft remains to be seen. But Brazzell could be that guy.
