Burglars, thieves target Saratoga residents

Feb. 18

Residential burglary: Between 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 18, someone entered the pool house in the backyard of a residence in the 14000 block of Short Hill Court. The suspect(s) stole a power generator for a total loss of $1,200.

Feb. 20

Grand theft, conspiracy: At 12:15 p.m., two suspects stole a pop-up tent from a business in the 19000 block of Cox Avenue for a total loss of $2,500.

Feb. 21

Theft by false pretenses, conspiracy: Between 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 20 and 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 21, someone telephoned a Saratoga resident claiming to work at a tax company and defrauded the victim out of $5,900.

Feb. 23

Vehicle burglary: Between 11 p.m. on Feb. 22 and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 23, someone forced entry into a vehicle parked in the 18000 block of Cox Avenue and stole tools for a total loss of $2,300.
