The Chicago Bulls have made a flurry of trades leading up to the trade deadline. Chicago has brought in multiple guards from different teams. Chicago has brought in Jaden Ivey and Anfernee Simons as two guards who can handle the ball and score.
Those trades have brought into question Coby White’s future with the Bulls. White is on an expiring contract and will be a free agent this summer. He is going to be looking for a significant raise when he hits free agency, and it doesn’t look like Chicago is willing to pay that price.
After a game against the Bucks, White talked to the media about what his future could be with the organization. He made it clear that he wants to stay in Chicago.

Chicago Bulls Guard Coby White Talks About His Future
White understands the business of basketball, but he also wants to stay with the Bulls.
“I’m trying to focus on the game, but obviously, there’s a lot of stuff going on. It’s hard not to think about, but it’s tough…Obviously, I want to be here. I love my teammates. But I been saying this (as long as) ya’ll been asking me: the front office is gonna do what they think is best for the team.”
White is in the same tough position that many other players around the NBA are in this time of year. He isn’t sure where his future stands with Chicago, but he still has to go out and play as hard as he can every night. He admitted that it’s tough to just focus on the game.
The Bulls are going to assess their needs before the deadline officially passes, and there is a good chance that White gets dealt. They don’t want to lose him as an asset for nothing over the summer, so they would rather get something back in a trade for him.

The Bulls Might Not be Finished Making Trades
At this point, it would be surprising if the Bulls didn’t end up moving White. That could be the final move that they make, but they could make more, as well. They have been linked as a possible suitor of Anthony Davis, which would bring him back home.
Right now, the Bulls sit 10th in the Eastern Conference standings. They have the sixth-worst defense in the league. They are hoping to improve that rating so they can solidify a spot in the play-in. The Hornets are charging, and the Bulls are trying to make sure they don’t get leapfrogged.
If the Bulls do trade White, it’s an indication that they are finally taking steps to start a rebuild. They have been stuck in the middle of the standings for quite a while. Trading for a young piece like Ivey helps them possibly get out of that rut in the near future.
