Bryson DeChambeau Finally Responds to LIV Golf Departure Rumors After Secret Meeting Bombshell

Bryson DeChambeau addressed growing uncertainty around his future with LIV Golf, offering a direct update after recent reports linked him to potential opportunities outside the league.

The two-time U.S. Open champion has been at the center of speculation following details shared by Brody Miller of The Athletic, who wrote that “DeChambeau and his team spent a part of Masters week meeting with organizations to discuss possible options if he chose to leave LIV.” With his current contract set to expire at the end of the season, questions around his long-term position have intensified.

Despite that backdrop, DeChambeau made it clear he remains committed to the league for now. Speaking to Flushing It, he said: “We’re still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility.”

His current deal, signed in 2022, is nearing its end, and negotiations over a new contract remain ongoing. The uncertainty has been fueled by both business developments within LIV Golf and external interest across the sport.

In his full remarks to Flushing It, DeChambeau emphasized both optimism and responsibility.

“We’re still working on a potential contract,” he said. “I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution.”

He added, “But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility. I’ve put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do, we’re going to make this work.”

When pressed further on what would happen if no agreement is reached, DeChambeau maintained the same stance.

“As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.”

His comments signal that while negotiations are unresolved, his priority remains tied to the league’s immediate future and stability.

The timing of DeChambeau’s response comes as LIV Golf continues to navigate its long-term structure and financial model.

The league, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has invested heavily since launching in 2022. According to information shared with Flushing It, revenue has increased significantly, with reports stating it has doubled in 2025 compared to 2024 and surpassed $100 million early in the 2026 season.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil also addressed the league’s direction, saying during a recent broadcast: “We have never been in a better position.”

At the same time, broader uncertainty remains part of the conversation. The Financial Times reported that the Public Investment Fund plans to withdraw funding after the 2026 season, adding another layer to ongoing discussions around sustainability.

Within that context, DeChambeau highlighted both the challenges and the long-term vision.

“There’s a lot of moving parts like in any business. It’s a startup, right? And so there’s going to be times where we’re squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments,” he told Flushing It.

He also pointed to his responsibility toward younger players in the league.

“It’s for Michael LaSasso. It’s for Caleb Surratt. It’s for Josele Ballester. It’s for David Puig,” DeChambeau said. “Jon, Phil, DJ, myself and the guys that have been here from the start, we’re okay. It’s now our responsibility to take care of these kids that believe in us.”

Those remarks underline his broader role beyond competition, particularly as one of LIV Golf’s most visible figures.

While speculation around a potential departure continues, DeChambeau’s latest comments indicate that his immediate focus remains on helping the league grow and finding a contract solution that aligns with that goal.

For now, his future remains unresolved, but his message is consistent: he intends to stay closely connected to LIV Golf as long as the league continues to operate.
