Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has quickly established himself as one of the NFLâs most successful young quarterbacks.
Since arriving in Denver, Nix has helped pull the franchise out of the AFC West basement, led the Broncos to 25 total wins including the postseason, unseated the Chiefs as division champions, and secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
He did all of this by the end of Year 2.
Hall of Fame quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner offered both praise and blunt advice for Nix.
While speaking with 9NEWSâ Mike Klis at Super Bowl Radio Row, Warner said:
âOverall, weâre talking about a second-year quarterback. I think heâs done some incredible things,â Warner said.
Iâm just very impressed with how heâs carried himself,â Warner added.
Warner also pointed to a specific area where he believes Nix can still grow.
He wants to see âjust a little more poise and calm in the pocket,â adding that there are âsome opportunities out there if he just settles in a little bit more.â

While Warner was clearly impressed by Nixâs production and leadership, he didnât shy away from identifying the next step in his development.
According to Warner, Nixâs athleticism and comfort playing off-schedule can sometimes work against him.
âHe loves to be on the move. He loves his feet moving, which I understand because heâs a great thrower on the run. But sometimes, thereâs some opportunities out there in the pocket.”
Warner emphasized that this is a natural stage of development for young quarterbacks, especially those with elite mobility.
The balance between creating and trusting the offense is often what separates good quarterbacks from truly great ones.
âTo have his team as the No. 1 seed in his second year, all the comeback wins, Iâm just very impressed with how heâs carried himself,â Warner added.
What Comes Next for Nix and the Broncos
As Nix enters Year 3 under head coach Sean Payton, Warner believes mastering the pocket will allow Denverâs offense to reach another level.
Instead of relying on constant improvisation, settling in and letting plays develop could make the game easier.
He also emphasized that it is more sustainable over the course of a full season and could help prevent injury.
âWe see it a lot in the league with these athletic quarterbacks,â Warner said.
âTheyâre very comfortable trying to create. Itâs just finding that balance where sometimes you let the offense work for you.â
Warner acknowledged how impressive it was for Nix to reach the AFC Championship Game in just his second season.
However, he also stressed how difficult it is to get back once youâre there.
âHeâs very young, and youâd like to think heâll be back there numerous times,â Warner said. âBut itâs not easy to get there.â
With the Broncos bringing back much of their core, the focus now shifts to Nix and whether he can take that next step.
