Brian Snitker may not be the Atlanta Braves manager anymore, but he’ll long be remembered for his successful tenure in charge of the ball club.
As the Braves’ skipper, he guided them to six straight National League East titles between 2018 and 2023, and also led Atlanta to a World Series title in 2021. To honor Snitker, the team announced Thursday that he will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame on April 25, as reported by Bob Nightengale.
Snitker served as Atlanta’s bench boss for 10 seasons, leaving the position in 2025.

Snitker has been a part of the Braves’ organization since 1977, when he signed a minor league deal as a player with Atlanta. He played three seasons in the ranks before they released him in 1980. However, Snitker quickly transitioned into coaching in the Braves’ system, eventually working his way up to the big leagues.
He served in different roles with Atlanta over the years, and he was the team’s third-base coach from 2007-2013 before taking the managerial job two years later. Snitker is a lifelong member of the Braves organization, and being inducted into their HOF is well-deserved.
Why Did Snitker Step Down as Braves’ Manager?

Following a poor 2025 campaign that saw the Braves miss the postseason, Snitker decided to resign as the club’s manager and retire from coaching altogether. He now serves in an advisory role within Atlanta’s front office.
2026 is the 50th year that Snitker has been a part of this organization, and it’s only fitting that it’s the time they’ve decided to put his name in the HOF. He’s third all-time in franchise history in wins as a manager, trailing only Bobby Cox and Frank Selee. Snitker captured 811 victories during his time at the helm.
Snitker won NL Manager of the Year in ’18, and he was a finalist for the prestigious award on four occasions. He’s second in the Majors in most wins behind only Dave Roberts, who has guided the Los Angeles Dodgers to back-to-back World Series titles.
Walt Weiss is now the Braves’ manager, and he was Snitker’s bench coach during his time in charge. Weiss has led Atlanta to a 12-7 record so far, and they’ve won two in a row. The Braves sit at the top of the NL East, and should be back in playoff contention this season — as long as they stay healthy.
The Braves’ HOF already includes numerous legends, such as Cox, Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, and many others.
Snitker will be the latest to join the impressive company.
