Boy, 17, critically wounded in Back of the Yards shooting

Police are looking for three attackers, one of whom opened fire on a 17-year-old boy, leaving him in critical condition early Thursday in the Back of the Yards on the South Side.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of South Ashland Avenue when three individuals approached the teen and one opened fire, Chicago police said.

The boy was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was in critical condition, police said.


Area 1 detectives were investigating.
