Boulder police arrest two for vehicular theft after they ask officers for directions

Boulder police arrested a man and a woman in a stolen vehicle on Sunday after the suspects asked officers for directions.

According to the Boulder Police Department’s post on X, late Sunday night, officers saw video footage of a man and a woman driving a stolen car into Boulder. Police utilized the Flock Street Camera to identify the vehicle, according to the post.

If you’re going to ask for directions while delivering food, perhaps you shouldn’t ask while driving a stolen car.

But if you do, you should definitely ask a Boulder Police officer.

After following the suspects in an unmarked police car, the driver asked police for directions to deliver some food.

Subsequently, police discovered that the woman in the stolen vehicle had two prior vehicle theft convictions as well as an active drug trafficking warrant out of New Mexico, according to the post.

When officers searched her, they found .29 grams of methamphetamines, .49 grams of M30 blue pills that contained fentanyl, and three stolen credit cards. According to the post, the woman was then charged with unlawful possession of drugs and felony possession of a financial transaction device.

The man in the car was also found with methamphetamines and charged with motor vehicle theft, drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

When the car was searched, officers found a fake BB gun that had been altered to look like a real gun, and a large knife next to the driver’s seat of the vehicle, according to the post.

Both individuals were later booked into the Boulder County Jail.
