Boston Red Sox Reunite With Promising Pitching Prospect

The Boston Red Sox have gotten one of their former pitching prospects back.

According to The Boston Herald’s Gabrielle Star, pitcher Jedixson Paez has been returned to the Red Sox by the Chicago White Sox.

The Red Sox lost Paez to the White Sox at the Rule 5 draft, but now, with this news, he is heading back to Boston’s prospect pool.

Paez was designated for assignment by the White Sox earlier this week. This was after he appeared in his first three major league games for Chicago this campaign, where he allowed six earned runs in three innings pitched.

While Paez had a tough start to his major league career with the White Sox, he has shown promise in the minors. During this past season with Single-A+ Greenville, he had a 2.79 ERA and 23 strikeouts in seven starts. This was after he had a 5-4 record and a 3.17 ERA in 22 games split between Single-A Salem and Single-A+ Greenville in 2024.
