Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown watched in street clothes while supporting a fresh pair of shades as his team fell to the rival New York Knicks on Thursday.Â
Brown, 29, has seen his name appear on the injury report in recent weeks because of a nagging Achilles injury. Fortunately, there doesnât seem to be a major concern, but it is slightly worrisome nonetheless.Â
Brown has assembled his best season as a pro and earned MVP consideration all season. While it appears he is very unlikely to receive the honor, it doesnât take away from the remarkable season heâs had.Â

In a season that was seen by many as a âgapâ year, Brown steered his Celtics right back to contender status and near the top of the Eastern Conference. Boston needs just one more win to clinch the second seed.Â
It has a strong opportunity to achieve that tonight.
Celtics Confirm Jaylen Brownâs Playing Status for Fridayâs Game
The Celtics return to TD Garden to take on the lowly New Orleans Pelicans.
Boston, without Brown in the lineup, lost last night to the Knicks in a thrilling contest. A couple of late Josh Hart 3-pointers tilted the game in New Yorkâs favor. But without Brown in the mix, some Celtics fans arenât moved by the loss.Â
Entering today, Brown was again listed on the injury report with Achilles tendinitis. Initially listed as questionable, Brownâs status has been upgraded ahead of tip off.Â
The 29-year-old Boston star is expected to play tonight, according to the team.

Câs Aiming to Be Whole Entering Pressure-Packed PostseasonÂ
Injuries are tough at any juncture of the season. They are horrible this time of year. The playoffs are starting next week, and the Celtics have plenty to show.Â
It has been a storybook-type season. Brownâs MVP candidacy, Jayson Tatumâs miraculous return, coach Joe Mazzulla going viral the other night for screaming at his players for allowing LaMelo Ball a dead-ball dunk attempt, the list goes on.
Now that the Jays are reunited and quickly restoring their continuity, Boston feels it has a chance to hang with anyone. The team is obviously battle-tested and knows what it takes to reach the top, but that only means it wonât be granted any excuses if the job falls short.Â
The Celtics are set to host Game 1 in TD Garden next weekend. Behind those boisterous fans, Boston hopes to tip off the spring festivities with some vivacity.Â
