All-Star Munetaka Murakami has homered in his first at-bat on his bobblehead day Sunday to put the White Sox ahead 2-1 over the Houston Astros. The Sox are trying to avoid being swept.
The two-run shot to left was Murakami’s 21st of the season. It’s the first time he’s gone deep in 12 games since returning from a right hamstring strain he suffered on May 29 and that sidelined him for six weeks.
Murakami was tied for the major league lead with 20 homers when he suffered the injury running out a grounder.
