The Buffalo Bills have bolstered their pass rush.
Buffalo hosted Mike Danna on a visit over the weekend, and on Monday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed the team signed him to a one-year deal.
“Bills signed former Chiefs OLB Mike Danna to a one-year contract,” Schefter wrote on X.
The amount of money Danna will make wasn’t revealed. In 2025, he earned $8 million a season, as part of a three-year, $24 million deal.
Danna has spent his entire career with the Chiefs after being selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He helped Kansas City win back-to-back Super Bowl championships as he was an effective pass rusher.
Last season with the Chiefs, Danna recorded 25 tackles and 1 sack last season. The year prior, he had 3.5 sacks; his best season was in 2023 when he recorded 6.5 sacks and 50 tackles. He has 21.5 sacks since entering the league in 2020.
Danna joins a revamped Bills pass rusher that features Greg Rousseau, along with free agent signing Bradley Chubb and second-round pick T.J. Parker.
Danna will wear No. 51 for the Bills, the team announced.
Bills Revamped Defense This Offseason
Buffalo fired head coach Sean McDermott and brought in Jim Leonhard as the new defensive coordinator.
Leonhard is changing to a 3-4 defense, so the Bills will need more linebacker help and pass rush help, which Danna is. His goal was to make Buffalo’s defense more aggressive.
“We’re going to be an attacking defense up front and in the back end. We’re going to attack the football. The biggest stat in football is turnovers, so we’re going to be aggressive, we’re going to fly around, we’re going to communicate, we’re going to play well together, but we’re going to cause issues for the offense, and we’re going to force them to react to us,” Leonhard said.
Buffalo’s focus this offseason was on adding to its defense, and Danna is the latest addition.
Danna joins a pass rush group that features Rousseau, Chubb, Parker, Michael Hoecht, Ed Oliver, T.J Sanders, and Javon Solomon, among others.
Buffalo Selected Parker With Its First Pick
The Bills have struggled to get after the quarterback in the playoffs, so that became a focus for Buffalo.
With the Bills’ first pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, Buffalo selected Parker out of Clemson to help bolster the pass rush.
“I’m going to work hard and give it all I got,” Parker said. “I’m going to lean on the older vets. We got Chubb and Greg Rousseau, and then Ed. I’m going to lean on those guys as heavily as possible. Just really (try) to get under their wing and just learn quickly, so I can help this team.”
Parker struggled in his final year at Clemson as he recorded 5 sacks and 37 tackles, while the year prior, he had 11 sacks and 19.5 tackles for a loss.
Despite trading out of the first round, the Bills were able to land Parker who was their target, according to GM Brandon Beane.
“Yesterday was huge how it worked out for us,” Beane said. “We knew when we left here last night, looking at the board, that we’re going to be able to get a pass rusher.”
The Bills selected Parker with the 35th overall pick.
