Bills QB Josh Allen Rumored to Make Surprise Buffalo Crossover Appearance

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is expected to return to town for voluntary practices this week, and could be making a big crossover appearance to support the city’s other team in their title run.

The Bills are holding optional veteran practices for three days to start the week, with Allen regularly attending in the past. As he prepares for the upcoming season, Allen is rumored to be making his way downtown for one of the city’s biggest games in years.

Josh Allen Could Bang the Drum for the Buffalo Sabres

Fans of the Buffalo Sabres had speculated that Allen could be a special guest at Tuesday’s playoff game, where the Sabres will be hosting the Boston Bruins in Game 2 of the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Sabres call on special guests to bang the drum before the game, getting the crowd hyped up, and a top team official is building speculation that it could be Allen on Tuesday.

Pete Guelli, president of business operations for the Bills and Sabres, took to social media to hype up a mystery guest for Tuesday’s game.

Rolling a special guest out Tuesday just to see if Key Bank Center can get any wilder!” Guelli shared in a post on X, adding an emoji of a drum.

While Guelli did not leave any hints about the identity of the mystery guest, fans guessed that it could be Allen since he is already in town for Bills practices that are slated to run through Wednesday.

New Bills Signing Bradley Chubb Sends Strong Message About Josh Allen

Bills players regularly make appearances at Sabres games, as the teams share ownership with Terry and Kim Pegula. At Sunday’s playoff opener, members of the Bills offensive line rode the Zamboni between periods to hype up the crowd. Allen has attended games in the past as well.

The teams have often come together to support efforts in the city of Buffalo as well. After the Tops shooting in 2022, members of both teams came together to make appearances and support the community most affected.

It’s not clear if Allen will be attending on Tuesday, and some fans had other guesses tied more directly to the Sabres to bang the drum. Some guessed it could be goalie Ryan Miller or other former stars like Gilbert Perrault or Pat LaFontaine.

Other Bills Players Supporting Sabres Playoff Run

The Bills franchise has been supporting the Sabres this week, sharing a post this weekend wishing the team luck in its first playoff appearance since 2011. Several Bills players joined in to offer their support, including Buffalo-area native Joe Andreessen.

“Good luck Sabres!” the linebacker wrote in response to the post from the Bills.

“Good luck in the playoffs, Sabres,” linebacker Dorian Williams added.

The Sabres franchise and many of their players have also supported the Bills, making appearances at Bills games in the past. Bills safety Damar Hamlin said it’s time for his teammates to return the favor.

“Appreciate everything ya’ll did, pulling up on us,” Hamlin said. “It’s ya’ll turn to go handle it.”
