Bills Identified as Potential Trade Partner to Land Maxx Crosby During NFL Draft

When most people think of the NFL Draft, they picture the college players that teams will select during a three-day event. However, college athletes aren’t the only ones involved in this occasion.

Teams often part ways with veteran players to acquire draft picks, and the Buffalo Bills could be one of the teams keen on trading for a proven player.

Could The Bills Land Maxx Crosby

As the Bills hold the No. 26 pick in the draft, they might consider trading it for a veteran star player who could help propel them to the Super Bowl this season. Fansided’s Jake Beckman has a particular player in mind for this potential move.

Beckman identified seven players who could be traded during the draft, mentioning that Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby could be a potential addition for the Bills.

“When the Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade at the beginning of March, his value bottomed out. That means that since then, his value has only gone up (because that’s the only way it can go),” Beckman wrote.

“If/when they do trade him, it’s never going to be for two first-round picks like the Ravens were offering, but it would be for a first-round pick and maybe a round two or three pick.”

Ravens Tried to Trade For Crobsy

The Ravens traded for Crosby at the beginning of March, exchanging their first-round picks in 2026 and 2027. However, the deal fell through when the Ravens were not satisfied with Crosby’s physical results.

It appears the Raiders are intent on keeping Crosby for this season; however, another team could still swoop in with a trade offer too good to pass up.

“You have to imagine that they still want to offload him. They signed a whole bunch of players and spent a whole bunch of money on defense, and then they found out that they were still going to be stuck with Crosby’s contract,” Beckman added. “They have 10 picks in the 2026 draft, including the first overall pick and three fourth-round picks. If they want to trade back into the first round of the draft and get Fernando Mendoza a receiver (which they desperately need), they can do that.”

If the Bills manage to acquire Crosby during the draft, they will likely need to part with their 26th pick, as there’s no way the Raiders would settle for anything less than a first-rounder for him.

Buffalo Should Look to Trade For Crosby Over Taking a Pass Rusher at No. 26

The Bills would be an excellent fit for Crosby, as they could certainly use some assistance with their pass rush. Bringing in one of the best in the NFL would be a smart move for them.

If Buffalo is considering drafting a pass rusher at No. 26, then trading for Crosby might be a smarter move. The Bills can’t afford to gamble on how a rookie pass rusher will perform, and they’re not in a position to wait around to see if anyone can develop into a great player.

The Bills need players who can help them win now, and Crosby would bring that to the table.
