Leigh basketball player Ashley Saban is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Jan. 5-10.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Saban finished with 62.6% of the votes. Alameda basketball player Jennalyn Apodaca took second at 30.6%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Saban scored 22 points against The King’s Academy, 25 against Lynbrook and 23 in a win over Del Mar as Leigh went 3-0 last week. Across the three games, Saban averaged more than 23 points, three steals and three assists per game.
