Bat tests positive for rabies in Oak Lawn

A bat tested positive for rabies in Oak Lawn, Cook County officials announced.

The bat was found in the 9800 block of South Pulaski Road, officials announced Thursday.

Pet owners are encouraged to stay up to date on vaccinations and the Cook County Animal and Rabies Control is hosting free rabies and microchips clinics through October to keep pets protected.
