RICHMOND — An equipment problem shut down BART train service on two of its service lines early Friday, officials said.

BART’s red line service between Richmond and Oakland’s MacArthur station was not available, nor was the service on its orange line between the Richmond and Berryessa stations. Officials said it was not known how long the service would be down.
The shutdown was expected to be a lengthy one.
On social media about 5:15 a.m., BART said a shuttle train was running between the San Francisco International Airport station and Millbrae.
Richmond riders were told they should seek other means to get to the MacArthur station.
The yellow line from Antioch to SFO was not affected, nor were the green line (Daly City to Berryessa) or blue line (Daly City to Dublin/Pleasanton).
No other information was available immediately.
