Atlanta Braves Make Two Roster Decisions Ahead of Marlins Series

Per team announcement, the Atlanta Braves have made two roster moves ahead of their series against the Miami Marlins, which begins on Monday:

“The Braves today recalled RHP Rolddy Muñoz to Atlanta after optioning LHP Dylan Dodd to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.”

The Braves are fresh off another series win against the Cleveland Guardians. The Atlanta Braves are the only team in Major League Baseball this season that has yet to lose a series.

In the Braves’ impressive 13-1 win on Sunday Night Baseball, Dylan Dodd pitched three innings, which sets the Braves’ bullpen up well for the Marlins series.

Dylan Dodd Optioned by Braves; Rolddy Muñoz Recalled

Braves reporter Grant McAuley wrote (on April 13): “Rolddy Muñoz pitched briefly for the #Braves last season. He has 5 scoreless outings for Gwinnett so far in 2026. Dylan Dodd tossed 3 shutout innings on Sunday and should be back throughout the season. This is life with options.”

Rolddy Muñoz is a 25-year-old right-hander out of the Dominican Republic. He pitched 3.2 innings with Atlanta in 2025, but gave up five earned runs and walked five batters.

It’s clear he’s being called up to give the Braves’ bullpen another righty against a right-handed-heavy Marlins lineup.

Dodd has pitched in parts of four seasons for the Braves. He has plenty of options, which makes him a candidate for bouncing between the majors and minors. In 74.1 innings in his career, Dodd carries a 5.45 earned run average.

The Atlanta Braves are off to an impressive start to the 2026 season.

Their pitching staff has answered all the questions, even after several injuries before the season began.

With such solid pitching efforts, the Braves are 10-6, sit atop the NL East, and have the third-best record in MLB thus far.

The Marlins series will mark the first time Atlanta squares off a division foe. Miami is 8-8, which is good for second place in the NL East.

While other teams in the division have struggled out of the gate, Atlanta’s offense has been flexing its muscles.
