Astros Make Carlos Correa Announcement Before Dodgers Game

The Houston Astros will be without starting shortstop Carlos Correa before Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Houston originally had Correa leading off and playing shortstop. Yet, just before the first pitch, the team announced Correa was scratched from the lineup due to an injury.

“Carlos Correa has been scratched from tonight’s lineup due to a left ankle injury,” the Astros wrote on X.

With Correa scratched, the Astros updated lineup is as follows:

  • Jose Altuve 2B
  • Yordan Alvarez LF
  • Isaac Paredes 1B
  • Christian Walker DH
  • Cam Smith RF
  • Zach Cole CF
  • Christian Vázquez C
  • Nick Allen SS
  • Braden Shewmake 3B

Correa is hitting .279 with 3 home runs and 16 RBIs this season. In the series opener against the Dodgers, Correa went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and now won’t play on Tuesday.

More to come.
