On Saturday, Feb. 9, the Atlanta Falcons received troubling news regarding rookie edge rusher James Pearce Jr.
According to a Miami-Dade police report, Pearce was arrested on multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (domestic), aggravated stalking (domestic), fleeing and eluding police officers, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer without violence.
Per Pablo Hernandez of Local 10 News, Pearce allegedly attempted to evade police before crashing his vehicle at Northwest 103rd Avenue and 66th Street. He was then taken into custody.
Video footage circulating from the scene appears to show Pearce being detained. In the video, the individual is seen wearing a light blue jacket that matches Pearce’s arrest photo.
Multiple officers were involved in taking him into custody.
