ALL-BAY AREA NEWS GROUP QUARTERBACKS

First team

Michael Mitchell Jr., Archbishop Riordan, 6-0, 195, senior

West Catholic Athletic League and BANG player of the year threw for 3,749 yards and 49 touchdowns. The Stanford-bound Mitchell led Riordan to WCAL and Central Coast Section Open Division titles. 

Tyler Winkles, Acalanes, 5-11, 185, junior

Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division co-MVP threw for 2,715 yards and 28 touchdowns. Also rushed for 356 yards and seven touchdowns, leading Acalanes to an 11-1 record and a league championship. 

Second team 

Arjun Banerjee, California, 5-11, 178, senior

East Bay Athletic League first-team selection threw for 1,555 yards and 18 touchdowns. Led California to an 8-4 record and a North Coast Section Division II semifinals appearance. 

Berell Staples, McClymonds, senior

Alameda County player of the year led McClymonds to Oakland Section and NorCal Division 3-AA titles. Threw four touchdown passes in win over Oakland Tech in the Silver Bowl.
