On Tuesday evening, the New York Yankees snapped their four-game losing skid when they beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 6-2.
The series is now tied up at 1-1 with the finale on Wednesday afternoon at Camden Yards.
Ben Rice finished Tuesday’s victory with one hit and one walk.

Ben Rice is in the middle of an incredible season, as he is batting .310 with 40 hits, 13 home runs, 29 RBI’s, 31 runs and two stolen bases in 38 games.
Earlier this month, Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez made a bold statement about Rice (via WFAN).
Rodriguez: “When you look at this roster and you look at some of the late 90’s rosters, they start resembling each other… Rice is hopefully the modern-day Don Mattingly. This kid can really, really hit.”
That’s high praise for Rice from one of the best players in MLB history.
Mattingly spent all 14 seasons of his career playing for the Yankees.
He won 1985 MVP, nine Gold Glove Awards and made six All-Star Games.
Right now, the 65-year-old is the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Looking At Rice
Rice was picked in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
He is in his third season (all with the Yankees).
Over 225 career games, the 27-year-old is batting .247 with 184 hits, 46 home runs, 117 RBI’s, 125 runs and five stolen bases.
ESPN Insights wrote (on May 11): “Aaron Judge (16) and Ben Rice (13) become the fastest Yankees duo to each reach 13+ home runs in a season 🤯”

If Rice can have a career anything close to Mattingly, Yankees fans would be very happy.
Since he is still under team control, he could end up being with the franchise for a long time.
Yankees Right Now
With their win over the Orioles, the Yankees are now 27-16 in 43 games, which has them as the second-place team in the American League East.
They are 2.0 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for first.
