Bowman was born April 25, 1993, in Tucson, Arizona, and made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in the 2014 Daytona 500.

Early in his career, Bowman worked his way through the NASCAR garage by driving for smaller teams while gaining experience at the Cup level. That stretch helped him build the foundation for what would eventually become a full-time opportunity with Hendrick Motorsports.

Bowman has made more than 360 NASCAR Cup Series starts since his debut in 2014.

Today, Bowman drives the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports and has recorded eight NASCAR Cup Series victories during his career.


Bowman’s Path to Hendrick Motorsports

Bowman’s opportunity with Hendrick Motorsports began in 2016.

That season he filled in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. during several races when Earnhardt was sidelined with concussion symptoms. Bowman impressed the team during those substitute starts, including a strong performance at Phoenix Raceway where he qualified on the pole.

Two years later he joined Hendrick Motorsports full time in the No. 88 Chevrolet, replacing Earnhardt following the NASCAR legend’s retirement.

In 2021 Bowman moved into the No. 48 Chevrolet after seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson stepped away from full-time competition.

Johnson drove the No. 48 to seven championships, making it one of the most recognizable numbers in the history of NASCAR.

Bowman quickly found success in the car. During the 2021 season he won four Cup Series races and advanced to the NASCAR playoffs.


Bowman’s NASCAR Cup Series Wins

Bowman earned his first Cup Series victory in 2019 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Since then he has added additional wins while driving for Hendrick Motorsports, including victories at Auto Club Speedway, Richmond Raceway, Dover Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
