“The results still aren’t final. We believe there are at least several thousand more ballots to be counted,” Pasquale Scuderi, the Alameda Unified School District’s superintendent, said in a Tuesday statement. “But with a 75.45% approval rating — the highest percentage of ‘yes’ votes that an AUSD parcel tax has ever received — it would be nearly impossible to lose at this point.”

Scuderi said Measure E’s nearly certain passage now is an enormous relief to AUSD leadership, as the district would face devastating losses of programs and personnel without it. For the latest election results, visit acgov.org/rovresults/251 online.

“We will hold off on making an official announcement until the registrar of voters ‘certifies’ the vote, meaning it takes step to ensure that the count of ballots and reckoning of votes is complete and accurate, which typically takes several weeks,” he said.
