Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football made a strong statement on and off the field during its annual A-Day weekend, and the ripple effects are already being felt on the recruiting trail.
According to Rivals Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, Alabama not only secured a commitment from in-state defensive lineman AJ Pauley but also positioned itself as the favorite for several elite prospects following their visits to Tuscaloosa.
With multiple predictions now logged in favor of Alabama, the Crimson Tide appears to be building serious momentum heading into the summer.
Four-Star Edge Defender Antwan Jackson
One of the biggest names trending toward Alabama is four-star EDGE Antwan Jackson.
The Tennessee standout has now visited Tuscaloosa multiple times in 2026 and has heavy interest in the Crimson Tide.
Jackson emphasized how every visit brings something new, helping Alabama stand out among his top schools. His latest trip during A-Day gave him an even closer look at the culture, particularly how younger players are given opportunities to earn playing time early.
“Every time I go, it’s a good time, and my family loves it too,” Jackson told Rivals. Every visit, it’s something new. That keeps my attention and makes me want to keep coming back.”
Following his visit, Jackson didn’t mince words on where Alabama stands.
“Alabama is at the top after my A-Day visit,” Jackson said.
Alabama Trending for Top Georgia Talent
Alabama’s recruiting surge isn’t limited to one prospect. The Tide is also making major inroads in the talent-rich state of Georgia.
Four-star running back Nigel Newkirk continues to build a strong bond with the program after multiple campus visits. His familiarity with Tuscaloosa has created a “second home” feeling, and his latest trip only reinforced that connection.
“It was just good being around the guys after A-Day,” Newkirk said. “Alabama is still one of my top schools.”
On the defensive side, four-star cornerback Darrius White is another name to watch closely.
White has repeatedly expressed admiration for Alabama’s track record of developing defensive backs, even referring to the program as “DBU.” His relationship with defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist has been a key factor, along with the energy and atmosphere he experienced during his visit.
“I’ve never been to a Bama game before, so seeing that environment was cool,” White said. “It was a good amount of fans, just a sneak peek. I feel like when I go back for a game, it’ll be even bigger.”
A-Day Momentum Could Shape Alabama’s 2027 Recruiting Class
The momentum Alabama built during A-Day could prove to be the tipping point for the Crimson Tide in the class of 2027 which has a chance to finish inside the top five once again.
