Aaron Boone Makes Controversial Decision

In the 9th inning (with one out), the Yankees had two runners on base, and Aaron Boone decided to keep Randal Grichuk in the game.
Talkin’ Yanks wrote: “With one out in the ninth and the tying-runs on base, Aaron Boone opted to stick with Randall Grichuk, who is hitless on the season, and save Trent Grisham to pinch hit for Jose Caballero one batter later
Grichuk struck out on four pitches”

MLB Fans React
The decision from Boone led to a lot of chatter on social media.
Here’s what people were saying:
@YAYEETUS18: “Classic Boone And Classic Yankees with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and not capitalizing Just win tomorrow please Offense needs to wake up man”
@pamsson: “I’m not going out of my way to defend Boone here but I’m not sure he has many options. He can only use Grisham for Grichuk or Caballero. His other options are McMahon and Escarra. So, he’s either going to have a Grichuk at bat or a Caballero one. Both bad choices.”
@williamnyy23: “Grichuk was Cashman’s big off season acquisition, so you can’t pinch hit for him.”

@MMGenius52: “The most non competitive AB ive seen in a while”
@L_Skor05: “This is actual insanity lmao.”
@SarahAnnRhoades: “This Yankees team is an abject disaster. Horrible roster construction, and horrible decision making by Aaron Boone.”
Yankees Struggling

The Yankees are off to a strong start to the season with an 8-5 record in 13 games.
That said, their offense has struggled in a big way over the last three games.
Erik Boland of Newsday Sports wrote during Friday’s game: “The Yankees, who had 4 hits in Wednesday night’s loss and 1 hit in Thursday’s loss, have 2 hits through seven innings tonight. They trail 5-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh”
Following two more games against the Rays, the Yankees will return home to host the Los Angeles Angels.
