76ers Top Three Offseason Trade Targets Revealed After Postseason Sweep

The Philadelphia 76ers had a very up-and-down postseason. After coming back from down 3-1 against the Celtics, they were swept by the Knicks. With that result, the Sixers decided to fire Daryl Morey, meaning a new era is coming in Philly.

Losing in the playoffs the way that they did shows that they have some flaws in the roster that they have to address. They have too much money tied up in their superstars to make any monster moves, but they can still make some moves around the margins.

Their top three offseason trade targets have been revealed, coming off that sweep.

76ers Have Three Solid Trade Targets

According to Bleacher Report, the 76ers should target Pelle Larsson as one of their trade targets. Larsson has some good skills on the defensive end of the court and likely wouldn’t be too expensive to bring over in a trade. That should be Philly’s biggest goal.

Another target they lay out is Justin Champagnie. He is a solid 3-point shooter, which is something they need. Again, he would likely be a low-priced target, which is something the Sixers have to have. They can’t afford another big contract on their books.

The final trade target they have is Terrence Shannon Jr. Shannon Jr. showed some real promise with his play in the playoffs. His ability to get to the rim and score is something that the Sixers desperately need off the bench. Their bench was a massive issue in the postseason.

Unlike the first two targets, Shannon Jr. would likely cost Philadelphia more assets. Minnesota would like to keep him if it can, for all of the same reasons the 76ers would want him. Trading for him would likely include putting some future draft assets in the trade.

Philadelphia Might be Active in the Offseason

Until the 76ers hire a new man in charge, it’s unclear how active they will be with offseason trades. They have some obvious needs that they need to address, which the new GM will likely take care of quickly. Figuring out a way to stay healthy in the postseason is their biggest issue.

That might mean load managing some of their stars, notably, Joel Embiid. If he can actually be healthy for the playoffs, they might have a chance to advance a few rounds in the playoffs. His health is the single most important thing to their success in the postseason.

That’s especially true since they won’t be able to trade him. His contract has too much money left on it for too long, meaning that Philly is going to have to try to make it work the best they can. Getting the right players around him will allow him not to have to work as hard, meaning a longer period of health. He is the best player that the team has even now.
