One man died after a Friday night shooting in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.
The shooting took place in the 5800 block of Oakport Street just after 10:15 p.m.
The male victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported by an unnamed individual to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead by medical staff. Officers responding to a report of the shooting recovered a firearm from the scene and are actively investigating the incident.
