One adult was killed and three were left in critical condition Friday evening after a shooting in West Garfield Park, fire officials said.
An unknown vehicle approached four people on the sidewalk near West Maypole Avenue and North Pulaski Road in West Garfield Park at around 5 p.m., police said. At least two armed offenders exited the vehicle and fired at the group, police said.
An hour after the shooting, police appeared to be focused on Gotcha Faded, a barbershop near that location. Officers went in and out of the storefront, and officers guarded the entrance.
Fire officials said one person shot during the incident was dead on arrival. Three other adults were transported in critical condition to area hospitals.
An additional person was transported in stable condition and was not a gunshot victim, fire officials confirmed.
All of the injured people were adults, according to fire officials.
Area Four Detectives are investigating.
