<p id=”par-2_21″>Ye planned to perform a concert in Poland this upcoming June. The country has canceled the performance <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/1st-time-kanye-west-apologized-anti-semitic-comments.html/”>because of his antisemitism</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-3_56″>“The decision to organize a Kanye West concert in Poland is unacceptable,” Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska said on <a target=”_blank” href=”https://x.com/martacienkowska/status/2044777688464855205″ rel=”noreferrer noopener”>social media</a>. “We are talking about an artist who has publicly expressed antisemitic views, downplayed crimes, and profited from selling swastika T-shirts. These are not ‘controversies.’ This is a deliberate crossing of boundaries and the normalization of hatred.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_18″>Cienkowska said allowing West to perform in Poland felt incredibly inappropriate given the country’s history with the Holocaust.</p>
<p id=”par-5_26″>“Artistic freedom does not mean giving a free pass to everything,” she added. “Culture cannot be a space for those who exploit it to spread hatred.”</p>
