It is the second time she’s offered a free concert in the area.</p>

Madonna and the Rolling Stones drew over 1 million spectators at shows on Copacabana Beach, while Juan Gabriel and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs appealed to many onlookers at the Zócalo.</p>

Shakira’s show, attended by 400,000, is the largest, but Juan Gabriel, a legendary Mexican artist, saw about 350,000 people pile into the square for a New Year’s Day concert back in 2000. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, an Argentinian rock band, piqued the interest of 300,000 spectators in the same square in 2023.</p>
